Step by Step Process

Navigating the installation and construction of a new pool may appear intimidating initially. However, gaining a thorough understanding from the start can alleviate potential questions, concerns, and issues throughout the process. At Pool Wizards, we distinguish ourselves through our detailed bid and design process, ensuring transparency and clarity about what lies ahead. Our commitment to quality extends to selecting top-notch products and collaborating with trusted partners. Below you can find our detailed step by step process on how we can help you

MAKE YOUR DREAMS A REALITY.

Step 1 - Initial Consultation

Our experienced installers will meet with you in your own backyard to discuss your vision, preferences, and goals for your pool as well as giving you certain ideas after assessing the backyard space, landscape, considering factors such as size, layout, features, and end result.

Step 2 - Budget and Design Discussion

After the initial backyard consultation, we will get to work on creating the custom pool for you. We will go over total project numbers and design a pool that fits your vision and expectations. During this process, we will explore various pool sizes, custom step/bench/sundeck kits, high-quality and efficient pool equipment such as variable speed pumps, filters, and heaters.

Step 3 - Proposal and Contract

We will then present a comprehensive proposal that includes the chosen design, estimated costs, and project timeline. Once you approve, we will then create a detailed contract outlining terms, payment schedule, and project specifications.

Step 4 - Excavation and Site Plan

On the day of excavation, we will meet with you to go over elevations and paint out both the area the pool is located, and the over dig line. Ensuring compliance with building codes, lot lines, and setbacks, we will begin the excavation process, carefully removing soil to create the pool shape and depth.

Step 5 - Steel Panel Placement

Next we will begin laying the steel wall panels out, then secure them all together with stainless steel bolts. The top of the walls will be leveled out to the correct elevation of the pool deck. Any interior steel steps, sun decks, and benches will also be installed at this point. After the walls are in place, level, and squared up, we will order a concrete truck to pour a footing around the exterior base of the wall.

Step 6 - Vermiculite Application

After walls are secured and leveled, we will next shape and finish the pool surface according to the design/liner specifications. We use vermiculite (pool-crete) which is a mixture of the mineral known as vermiculite and Portland cement.

Step 7 - Plumbing Equipment Pad, and  Electrical

Next up is the installation of the pool equipment pad which will hold your pump, filter, and heater systems. We will then drill out locations of the return jets, and any lights on the pool. The plumbing will be run using flex PVC from the pool back to your equipment pad. Our electrician will then follow right behind us and bond the pool and equipment, run conduit back to the pad, and wire the electrical.

Step 8 - Vinyl Liner Installation

Vinyl swimming pool liners are custom-made sheets of vinyl that hold the water within your swimming pool structure. The liner is secured into the coping (bead track) across the top of the pool wall, then tightly vacuumed into place to eliminate wrinkles or folds before the pool is filled. After the liner is stretched in and vacuumed correctly into place, we will then signal the water delivery company to start filling with enough water to properly set the liner needed to finish cutting in the returns and skimmers.

Step 9 - Finishing Touches

Once the pool is full of water, we will then assist you with the initial priming of the pool pump once the electrician has completed the work. Lastly, we will give you an orientation ("pool school") on how to properly maintain the pool, use the equipment, and gladly answer any questions you have regarding the finishing landscape/concrete around the pool.
